A Constitution

I think the only way I can successfully blog is if I set up some guidelines for myself first. These will be my goals and objectives, which will keep me accountable!

  • First I need to remember to be completely honest in every post. Including anything false in this blog would completely contradict its purpose.
  • Purpose: Since I'm using this blog for X158, one aspect of its purpose shall be to relate to current topics in class, provide my own personal experience and advice, and maintain contact with the class. I also think having this blog will be good for myself! Here I will be able to write about problems as I encounter them and hopefully find resolutions, and I can share the things I find interesting with hopes of piquing someone's interest!
  • Goals: The class only requires 4 blog posts, but if I can write about anything then I'm sure I can manage more than that! I am suddenly hesitant to not specify a number of posts per week, but I know myself well enough to realize this is just a little fear of failure. I'm not afraid of failure anymore, because I think it is the first step towards fantastic improvement. With that said I intend to post here twice a week, and comment on everyone's blog!
That is a pretty well-founded constitution, and I will always keep it in mind now when I post.

Moving on from there,

This has been a busy week for me, does anyone else feel this way? I have a test tomorrow in Latin, first thing in the morning that I am nervous about. The Latin class I am taking this semester is all poetry by one particular poet. It's mostly love poetry, but also very random and obscene sometimes! Tomorrow I will have to translate one entire poem, randomly chosen by my prof from the ones we have done so far, then write an essay and answer a few questions about anything my professor has mentioned in class. All of my friends in that class, and I have been trying to figure out what poem he will choose. Personally I have taken 3 (Latin) classes with him so far and it's basically the same for my classmates, so we all think we've figured out a pattern to his "randomness". My guess is a poem about a little bird, who dies, but I'll have to wait and see!

Ciao!
